I’m very excited about this first-ever local author expo! If you live locally, please come by! I’ll be there with 60 other local poets, novelists, journalists and playwrights. Learn about the writing craft and publishing experiences. Books will be available for purchase. I’d love to see some familiar faces!

Take a step back in time at Ocali Country Days at the Silver River Museum. This family-friendly festival is always a bunch of fun–and it’s the big fundraiser that keeps our programs going. Ya’ll come!!

I was privileged to travel to Europe this summer to do some freelance writing for the Wycliffe Global Alliance. I had a chance to meet the most amazing people and hear their wonderful stories. Once the articles are done, I’ll be sure to post them here on the site.

My dear friend Virginia Ferguson was honored at the Appleton Museum at a gala in February. “Captain Virginia” is the first lady in the state of Florida to be issued a U.S.C.G. Captain’s license. I’m honored to know her and proud to number her as one of my friends.

January 2011: Work in Progress:

Thanks to NaNoWriMo (see below) I finished the rough draft  for my romantic suspense story set in Italy. I’m now working on the edits. After my trip there last winter, how could I resist? Venice…Rome…a masquerade ball…oh, my.

I’m also working on a romantic suspense about a plein air landscape painter. Think forgeries, kidnappings, a yummy military hero…

November 2010: National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

November 1 – 30. I did it! Whohooo! I wrote the rough draft a 50,000-word novel by November 30th. It was my Italy story and I had a ball doing it. After Christmas, I’ll get it edited and and in the mail. Thanks to everyone who cheered me on! It was tough, but worth it!
